The storm got off to a promising start this morning. When I got up at 5:30 the snow had already started and by the time the sun was up at 6:30 or so, the ground was covered. I sat here and debated on going in to the shop. My major fear being that I would get there in the middle of grooming dogs and it would start icing up.
By 11:30, the snow had turned to rain/sleet/freezing rain and the tree branches were encased in shining silver. It would have been beautiful if the sun had peeked out for a minute or two but no such luck. I took a few snap shots but my camera cord is at the shop so I will have to post them tomorrow.
By 4 o’clock, the wintery mix had turned to a cold penetrating rain and everything just looked wet and dismal. The chickens and goats wouldn’t come out of their house and even the horses were in the shed. The only animal here who was enjoying the weather was Kaylee the crazy poodle. They truly are water dogs. She played in the rain most of the day and had a ball.
The Cavaliers were just totally insulted that I really expected them to go out and potty in the rain. They took one look out the door and said, nope, we’ll hold it. Well, from experience I know that while they have the best of intentions, they can’t hold it until the weather changes so out they went. I must say it didn’t take them long to do their business and come back in today.
Ah well, tomorrow is a new day and no doubt the sun will be shining again. Oh by the way, mush is muddy slush.
