Not Again! Farm

So this has been a week and it seems like I have lost everything! I spent two days tearing my house apart for some business stuff just to discover that I hadn’t brought it home at all. It was at the shop, right where it was supposed to be. Grrrrrrr!

Then I lost a roll of stamps. Stamps are damned expensive these days and I felt a bit like I had bought an expensive dinner and then dropped it on the floor. It turns out that they had fallen out of my pocket in the van and rolled behind the seat.

Do you ever have days like this?  Is it just me?

I seriously thought for awhile that I had lost my mind. I even looked in the chicken house as I checked for eggs before I came in the house. I thought the roll might have fallen out in there.

And chickens are a whole other topic. I had a long talk with the girls today. They were doing so well, laying two or three eggs a day and then whammo. All of a sudden, no more eggs. A friend suggested that I might want to cut down on my roosters as 4 roosters and 3 hens might be the wrong ratio and the roosters might be keeping the hens to busy to lay.

I am going to have to do something about the roosters. I keep saying that I am going to eat 3 of them but then that means… Yeah, well, I am not sure I am up to it yet. When summer comes and I open the windows…. and the roosters are crowing at 4 am, I think that will be the time!

Another friend suggested that the hens might be laying somewhere beside the nest box. Well… ok, so I had a look around. I found the hens but no eggs. I guess on Sunday, which is my morning off, I will have to do some chicken spying to see if they are slacking off or have found a better nest.
